Well this makes me kinda bummed. I don't think it's completely fair to oust him after just one year especially given McLaren's dismal performance this season. But looks like Kevin Magnussen will be !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! him next season

This is really surprising... I'm not a big Perez fan, but he can't be blamed for how bad the team is, and he's actually been doing better than Jenson lately, which I was starting to attribute to him becoming a bit more comfortable finally... Their rookie is finally showing signs he may be maturing, and they pick up a new rookie?

Good riddance. Perez got into F1 because of Mexican Telmex money.

On the road to F1, you need to win the GP2, Euro F3, or WSR 3.5 series. He hasn't won any of those and pay drivers like him keep winners of those series out of F1 since their countries cant write a blank check for them.

Actually I was just reading his Wiki page and was pretty surprised about how lackluster his career has been so far... All I knew about him otherwise is 'he was pretty good at Sauber last year'

Been looking around and I see no confirmation from McLaren so far, so I remain doubtful.

IF it's true, they should've just snagged up Massa before Williams did... I may be in the minority, but I think he's still got a championship in him if he gets a decent car. And if Vettel doesn't race.

Back in the 80's and 90's, you had to be in the contention to win the F3000 championship in order to earn a test of an F1 car. When you won the series, you were now a champion and finding sponsors was a matter of showing the trophy. That is how it is supposed to work.

Now, its all about no name drivers who haven't accomplished enough in the junior ladder being pushed passed talent just so some sponsor can show its logos on the last place car.

The article I found is on Autosport.com although it does mention no contract has been signed yet with Magnussen

That would be interesting. It might a fun game of musical chairs in this off season for the F1 circus
